Wrong Island Records was a DIY Indie/Punk label based on Long Island. It was a collective of artists that support the DIY aesthetics. All of their music was available as a free digital release; if you stopped by each band's pages, you could download all of their songs. Wrong Island also helped the community by organizing benefits for neighbors in need. They didn't control what type of music their artists were releasing.

In 2008 WIR's moved from Long Island NY to Portland OR and started small with their original West-Coast DIY space "The Wrong House". After a few small shows to introduce themselves to a new community Wrong Island Records officially became "IndieRockSucks.com,” acting as a source for free downloadable set's from House Shows and DIY spaces across Portland and the Pacific Northwest as a whole.

In 2020, co-founder Phil Salina was accused of statutory rape.
