Car Astor (fka SEE) is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer.[]

Car Astor, a Long Island native, who is self-taught on drums, guitar, bass, piano, and more, has been on the music scene since age 15, writing and releasing original songs and performing as a drummer and guitarist and collaborating with various bands.[]

In 2013, Car Astor fresh out of high school embarked on a solo career performing live at local bars, festivals and breweries and posting original music and covers of popular songs on Youtube and Soundcloud. As a fledgling young musical prodigy, working from her bedroom "studio" Car Astor (then going by the name SEE) wrote, sang, played all the instruments and self-recorded, mixed and released her first all-original seven-track EP "The Time Thief" which highlighted her talent and versatility exhibiting a range of styles from acoustic to electronic. The self-promotion of her original work on social media got the attention of music industry veterans among them music executive Tom Carolan (responsible for signing such artists as Stone Temple Pilots, The Lemonheads, Macy Gray) and then ultimately led to her signing her first record deal at age 19.  []

In 2016, Car Astor released her first label studio EP, "Ties" under the monicker SEE on Blue Élan Records. recorded with acclaimed record producer Brad Wood (Smashing Pumpkins, Sunny Day Real Estate, Liz Phair, Ben Lee, Pete Yorn, Veruca Salt) and Walter Dicristina. Car Astor's online presence has grown since her release of several music videos for the tracks She Cries, Green Line Killer and Potions. Collectively, Car Astor's videos have accumulated over 6 Million views on YouTube and with a subscriber base in excess of 50,000 followers on her Youtube channel Car Astor's Spotify channel has well over 1 million streams.[]

In 2016/2017 in promotion of Ties, the versatile Car Astor went out on the road, performing both solo acoustically and with her backing band by kicking off a month-long residency at Arlene's Grocery on NYC's lower east side and opening for the Steve Madden Summer Concert Series at Rough Trade NYC followed by a 2017 tour of the east and west coasts of the United States performing at noted venues such as The Gramercy Theatre, NYC, Rockwood Music Hall, The Space at Westbury, Milkboy, Philadelphia, PA, Metro Gallery, Baltimore, MD, The Perch at Tricky Falls, El Paso, TX, Hotel Congress, Tuscon, AZ, The Satellite, Los Angeles, Dante's Portland, OR and many more. Car Astor rounded out 2017 with the release of a 4 song acoustic EP entitled Green Line Killer that found its' birth during a week of live acoustic sessions that recorded and filmed live at the famed LA Cherokee Studios in Los Angeles, featuring live video performances of Another Pill to Take, Closed Eyes Open, and My Body Loves Trouble[]

Car Astor who adopted her new name in 2018 spent the better part of that year writing new material for a series of single releases in 2019 and album releases slated for 2020. producing albums for other artists in her home studio and She performed live as part of the Underwater Sunshine Festival recording a series of acoustic performances filmed at the Greenwich Village, NYC apartment of Counting CrowsAdam Duritz and toured east coast playing at varied venues such as Rough Trade NYC and at the Ardmore Music Hall.[]

During 2019 Car Astor also headlined the San Diego Pride She Fest an inclusive and intersectional celebration of LGBTQ women, that launched the Pride week in San Diego where she also warmed up for Melissa Etheridge at San Diego Pride Festival in Balboa Park. Car Astor is also a featured performer regularly appearing on SOFAR and also made appearances recording live videos on Voice of America News Border Crossings with Larry London and on Blue Point Brewery's Clocktower Sessions[]

In 2019 we saw Car Astor release a series of alt-pop singles which Pop Dust proclaims "takes fans on an emotional rollercoaster", "with a desire to create vulnerable, honest, and relatable music, for both herself and her fans". The singles include her dance-pop breakup anthem Girlfriend followed up by a 90's throwback bop, Don't Stop, Don't Speak, an electro-synth track Hush, a studio version of her acoustic song My Body Loves Trouble and the soaring personal heartbreaking ballad Spaces "Car Astor is stepping outside of her comfort zone and pushing herself more than ever before. It’s a perfect sneak peek into what promises to be one hell of a year, with her second EP coming later this year" - The Prelude Press.[]

Described by Guitar Girl Magazine as "heralding the emergence of a new important voice in the underground electro-pop world" upcoming in 2020 Car Astor is now back in the studio currently completing recordings that will round out a batch of her new alt-pop music and as well as a much-anticipated album of acoustic songs that harkens back to her singer-songwriter roots.[]
