Big City Lights was a Long Island Pop Punk band. Justin Morrel, one-time bass player for Bellmore pop sensations, Permanent Me, made Big City Lights active in early 2007. All the original members were active in the Long Island Music scene and had roots, in such bands as Permanent Me and Perfect Endings. Since then, the band has established them as masters of concise, traditional pop-punk in the styles of The Early November, Saves the Day, and Senses Fail. Morrell, who sings and plays guitar in Big City Lights, is accompanied by Sal Sparaccio on lead guitar, Adam Tepfer on bass, and Mike Magnetico on drums. The band played their first series of local shows in spring 2007 following the release of their demo, appropriately titled "Spring Demo '07". After their first few shows in '07 Magnetico quit, and they picked up Adam Friedberg, formerly from Vibes.
In the spring of 2008, Justin Morrell left Big City Lights to pursue a solo career. With their lead singer and drummer gone, Sal Sparaccio and Adam Tepfer tried to continue the band in April 2008, but on May 1st, 2008, said that the band was breaking up for good.
In December, 2008 Big City Lights announced that it would be getting back together to play Envy on the Coast's holiday tour's stint at The Crazy Donkey on December 30th. At the show they announced that they would be getting back together for good.
